German coach Armin Veh was born in Augsburg on February 1, 1961.
Armin began his professional career in 1979 in FC Augsburg. He did not complete the season there joining Borussia Monchengladbach where he made it to the final of the UEFA Cup in 1980. After a short period in the Swiss FC St. Gallen, in 1984 Armin Veh returned to Borussia Monchengladbach but after a leg fracture he had to forget about his career in 1. Bundesliga. The footballer decided to play in 2. Bundesliga for his native FC Augsburg. In 1987, Armin joined TSV Schwaben Augsburg from Regionalliga. The last club in Armin Veh’s playing career was SpVgg Bayreuth where he played till 1990.
In 1990-1995, Veh coached his native FC Augsburg and the club was promoted from Oberliga to Regionalliga. In 1996, Armin penned a contract with SpVgg Greuther Fürth which got a promotion to 2. Bundesliga after his first season there. However, the club management did not value the achievement and fired the coach in 1997. The course of events was almost the same when he joined SSV Reutlingen. In 2002, Veh joined Hansa Rostock but later he had to leave from north eastern Germany due to family circumstances and return to his native Augsburg in the south of the country. For some time he coached the local team again.
In 2006-2008 he was in charge of VfB Stuttgart to help them become German champions. He coached VfL Wolfsburg for less than a year after which he joined Hamburger SV. Having worked for less than a year in Hamburg, in 2011 Veh joined Eintracht Frankfurt. Three years later he became the head coach of Stuttgart.
