Benno Möhlmann is a retired professional midfielder and current coach of FSV Frankfurt in the 2. Bundesliga. He was born on 1 August 1954 in Lohne, Germany.
Benno started out his professional career with SC Preußen Münster in 1974. In 1978, he moved to prominent side SV Werder Bremen where he played for nine years amassing 33 goals in 230 appearances. Möhlmann was a big asset for the team as he helped them to become the Bundesliga runners-up three times during his spell. In 1987, Benno joined Hamburger SV where he played for two years before the retirement in 1989.
Benno took up coaching as an assistant at Hamburger SV. In 1992, he was appointed as the main coach of the team. In between 1995 and 2011, Möhlmann ruled the roost at such clubs as Eintracht Braunschweig, Greuther Fürth, Arminia Bielefeld and FC Ingolstadt 04. It was to his credit that Arminia Bielefeld broke into the Bundesliga in 2002. In 2011, Benno Möhlmann took over the coaching reins at FSV Frankfurt and coaches the team till today.
