Cavin Johnson is the head coach of SuperSport United. Cavin was born on 11 November 1958.
It was at the Bosmont Chelsea youth department, where Johnson’s coaching career began. Later on, he worked with SAFA and then was hired by Ajax Cape Town. At first, Cavin worked as the club’s chief scout but then became its assistant. He also had an experience serving as an assistant for Mamelodi Sundowns. Finally, Johnson was hired by Dikwena to work as the Head of Youth Development.
On 1 July 2012, Cavin was appointed as the head coach of Platinum Stars. This appointment is considered to be a reward for the great job Johnson and Allan Freese did in the previous season. The club was at the relegation-threatened side but managed to finish the 10th and stayed in the Premier Soccer League. After one year with the Stars Johnson switched for SuperSport United.
The coach has a SAFA Level III Pro Licence, a Dutch FA (KNVB) certificate and a Brazil FA Advanced Course certificate.
