Claude Le Roy was born in 1948. He is a French retired football player.
He spent his playing career in such French clubs as FC Rouen, AC Ajaccio, Avignon Foot 84, Stade Lavallois, Amiens SC. He took over as a manager in the club he finished playing. Then he coached French Grenoble, after that he had a short spell in Al-Shabab and in 1985 he headed the Cameroon national team.
Under his guidance Cameroon finished runner-up in the 1986 African Cup of Nations and won the championship in 1988.
Since 1989 Claude Le Roy took charge of the Senegal national team and led them to the quarter final of the 1992 African Cup of Nations.
Then he worked with the Malaysia national team, returned to Cameroon for a short period, then he headed Strasbourg, Shanghai Cosco, Cambridge United.
From 2004 till 2006 he headed DR Congo national team. Then coached Ghana national team and in 2008 Le Roy left it for Oman, where he took charge of the national team until 2011. In March 2011 he took up managing the Syria national team but left in May and returned back to DR Congo for two years.
