Csaba Laszlo is a former football player from Hungary and a manager. His playing career started in 1982 in Szekelyudvarhely FC. After playing in a number of Romanian and Hungarian football clubs, in 1988 he was signed by Bayer 05 Uberdingen. In 1990 Laszlo joined BVSC Budapest, yet at the age 0f 27 his career was curtailed by a knee injury.
Csaba Laszlo took up coaching in 2003, as he became the head of BW Kerpen, later moving to Borussia Mönchengladbach II. In 2004 he was appointed as an assistant coach at the national team of Hungary, where he worked with Lothar Matthäus. After spending two years in the national side, the tactician joined the Hungarian side Ferencvárosi TC and helped the team to qualify to the UEFA Cup. This achievement brought him Hungarian Trainer of the Year award.
In 2006 he was introduced as the manager of Uganda national team. Under his helm the side reached the third place in the CECAFA Cup.
In 2008 Laszlo became the boss of the Scottish club Heart of Midlothian. He helped the team to reach the third place in the Scottish Premier League and led the team to Europa League, consequently receiving ‘Manager of the Year’ award from the Scottish Press Association.
After a short spell in the Belgian club R. Charleroi S.C, in 2012 Laszlo was appointed as the head coach of the national team of Lithuania. However, one year later he was released.
