Daniel Sanchez was born on November 21, 1953 in Morocco. From the beginning of the 1970s till the late 1980s he played in the position of right forward.
He made his debut in Nice and changed five clubs throughout his career.
He began his playing career when 13 years old in Nimes Olympique. Afterwards, his family moved to Nice where he played for a youth team. At the end of 1972, Daniel played at the UEFA European Under-19 Championship in Spain. Daniel’s biggest achievement was marked during playing for PSG where he won several titles.
Sanchez had to master his coaching skills for three years in the late 1980s. Only after completing the course was he able to coach Nice reserve team. With the team he won the second division, after which he was invited to the main team. Nevertheless, on September 2, 1996 the coach was fired without explanations, due to which he mainly worked as assistant coach. In 2001, the coach joined FC Girondins de Bordeaux where he worked in the position of scout. Later, he worked as assistant coach in AS Saint-Etienne and left the club in 2006. In 2007, Daniel took the helm in Tours and on June 8, 2011 he became Valenciennes head coach to replace Philippe Montanier.
