Dariusz Kubicki is a Polish former defender and current coach of Sibir Novosibirsk in the Russian First Division. He was born on 6 June 1963 in Kożuchów, Poland.
Dariusz started out his senior career with Stal Mielec in 1981. His career really picked up steam when he moved to Legia Warsaw in 1983. He played for the club for nine years amassing 190 league appearances for this period. In 1992, Kubicki moved to England where he initially played for Aston Villa and then transferred to Sunderland. He played a crucial role in Sunderland’s promotion to the Premier League in 1996. For the next two seasons, the Pole had short spells at a number of English teams such as Wolverhampton Wanderers, Tranmere Rovers, Carlisle United and Darlington. In between 1982 and 1999 he also got 46 caps to the Poland national team.
In 2003, Dariusz Kubicki took up coaching at Polonia Warsaw. Till 2012 he was in charge of such Polish sides as Lechia Gdańsk, Znicz Pruszków, Wisła Płock and Dolcan Ząbki. In 2012, he signed a contract with the Russian team Sibir Novosibirsk and coaches them today.
