Derek Adams is a retired Scottish footballer. He is a manager of Ross County. He was born in 1975 in Glasgow, Scotland, and graduated from Aberdeen in 1992, where Adams began his senior playing career. In 1995, he joined the English team Burnley but made there a couple of league appearances and in 1996 returned to Scotland. There he switched to Ross County and in 1998 joined Motherwell. With the latest one we spent six years except a season-long loan at Ayr United. Having left Motherwell he played for Aberdeen and then for Livingston. In 2006, Adams became the playing coach at Ross County. Since October 2007, he doublejobbed playing and managing and brought the team to the Scottish First Division. In 2010, he led his side to the finals of the Scottish Cup, where Ross County lost to Dundee Unite 3-0, thus finished runner-up.
From November 2010 till May 2011he was the assistant manager at Hibernian and after that returned to Ross County. He led them to the Scottish Premier League having won the First Division.
