Didier Claude Deschamps is a current head coach of the France national football team.
A retired French footballer, he started his playing career in Bayonne and, having been noticed by the scouts from Nantes, in 1983 he joined the Nantes. Didier made his first appearance in the league in 1985.
In 1989 Deschamps joined Marseille and had a season loan with Bordeaux. In 1991 and 1992 he achieved success with Marseille winning Ligue 1 champion titles and became the winner of the 1992/93 UEFA Champions League.
Then transferred to Juventus, with whom he won one Copa Italia, two Italian Supercups, UEFA Champions League and an International Cup.
In 1999 Deschamps moved to England where he spent one season with Chelsea, after that he spent a season with Valencia.
The first club Deschamps headed was Monaco. Under his guidance since 2001 the team won the Coupe de la Ligue in 2003 and finished runner-up in UEFA Champions League.
Deschamps was appointed the head coach of Juventus in 2006, led the team to Serie A and resigned in 2007
In May 2009 he headed Marsielle. The team won three Coupe de la Ligue in a row and two Trophee des champions.
In July 2012 he was announced the head coach of the France national football team.
