Douglas Freedman is a Scottish football manager, currently coaching Bolton Wanderers. He was born in 1974 in Glasgow, Scotland and graduated from the academy of Queens Park Rangers. In the summer of 1994, he joined Third Division team, Barnet, where he spent a season. Then he was bought by Crystal Palace for a fee of £800,000 and played for them until October 2007, when he joined Wolverhampton Wanderers. In August 2008, Freedman moved to Nottingham Forest and played for them until October 2000, when he moved to Crystal Palace for a fee of £600,000. In 2008, he had a short loan-spell at Leeds United and soon left Crystal Palace for Southend United, where he ended his playing career in 2010.
After the retirement Freedman returned to Crystal Palace and became an assistant coach and in January 2011 he was appointed the head coach. In October 2012, he took charge of Bolton Wanderers, where he still works.
