Egil Roger Olsen is a retired Norwegian football player. Currently he coaches the Norwegian national football team.
Egil Olsen was born in 1942. He played for many Norwegian football cubs and was nicknamed ‘Drillo’ for good dribbling skills.
Since 1972 he embarked on his managerial career and coached many teams until 1990, when he was appointed the head coach of the Norwegian national team. Olsen led them to the 1994 and 1998 World Cup championships.
During the 1998/99 season he was a part of managerial staff in Vålerenga, the next season he spent in England with Wimbledon.
Olsen took charge of the Norway national U-19 team for the 2002/03 season. The next team he coached for one season was Fredrikstad.
In 2007 he signed a three-year contract with the Iraq national team, but he was sacked in half a year.
Since 2009 Egil Olsen heads the Norway national team.
