Erwin Koeman is a retired Dutch football player, currently the head coach of the Eredivisie team Waalwijk.
Koeman’s playing career started in Groningen in 1978, where he spent a season. In 1979 Koeman moved to PSV, where he played till 1982, making 43 appearances and scoring 8 goals. His career took unexpected twist in 1983, as he returned to his firs club and spent three seasons there, playing in 89 matches and scoring 39 goals.
At the age of 24 the player was signed by the club Mechelen and during his five-year spell at the side Koeman claimed the title of the Belgian League and Cup Winner’s Cup.
From 1990 to 1994 Koeman played in PSV, getting into the starting line-up 103 times and scoring 13 goals.
In 1998 the Dutchman retired from playing and entered into coaching, receiving an invitation to coach PSV youth team. Three years later he reached the position of an assistant coach. His managerial career also included Feyenoord, Utrecht and Hungary national team.
In 2012 Koeman was appointed the head coach of Waalwijk.
