Ever Hugo Almeida is a former football goalkeeper. He started his playing career in C.A. Cerro from Montevideo. After spending five seasons at the side, Almeida was signed by Club Guaraní of Paraguay and stayed there only for a season.
In 1973 the goalkeeper moved to Olimpia, where he settled for almost two decades, setting the record for most appearances in the Copa Libertadores. While staying in the team he claimed Copa Libertadores two times as well as Supercopa Sudamericana, the Intercontinental Cup and the Recopa Sudamericana , and several Paraguayan national championships.
After retiring in 1991, Almeida worked for a short time as a sport journalist, but later entered into coaching. He managed such clubs as Nacional of Quito, Municipal of Guatemala, Barcelona SC and the Paraguayan national team in 1999 at the Copa America.
In 2008 Almeida was appointed as the boss of Olimpia and claimed Paraguay championship title with the side. In May 2010 Almeida was introduced as the coach of Guatemala national team. In 2013 Almeida returned to Olimpia.
