Gavin Hunt is a coach of Bidvest Wits and a former South African footballer. Gavin was born on 11 July 1964 in Cape Town.
During his playing career, Hunt acted as a right-back. He spent 13 years performing for Hellenic. When he was 30, Gavin got an Achilles tendon injury and had to retire.
In 1995, he started his career as a coach. At first he was managing Seven Stars, where he spent three years. In 1998, Hunt became the coach of Hellenic, where his almost entire playing career had passed. Then, he used to train players of Black Leopards and Moroka Swallows. In 2007, he was offered to become the head coach of SuperSport United. Gavin took the proposal and started a new successful stage of his career. His good job was awarded with three titles in consecutive PSL championships (from the 2007/2008 season to the 2009/2010 season). Three times Gavin was named the Coach of the Year (in 2008, 2009 and 2010). His latest victory came in 2012, when his squad became the holders of the Nedbank Cup.
At the end of 2012/2013 campign Hunt ended his 6-year spell with Supersport United and took reigns at Bidvest Wits.
