Giuseppe Iachini is an Italian coach, born in 1964 in Ascoli Piceno. After graduating from Ascoli academy he joined the senior team and stayed there from 1981 to 1987. The following two seasons Iachini played for Verona and in 1989 he signed for Fiorentina, where he stayed till 1994. From 1994 to 1996 he played for Palermo in Serie B, and then had a season at Ravenna, three seasons he stayed with Venezia and after a season with Serie C1 side Alessandria Iachini retired as a player.
In October 2001 he took over his work as a coach at Venezia, thought he had no coaching license at that time. That wasn’t allowed and Iachini was disqualified for six months, without him Venezia relegated to Serie B. The 2002/03 season he guided Serie C1 side Cesena, the following season he coached Serie B side Vicenza.
From 2004 to 2007 Giuseppe Iachini was the head coach of Piacenza, playing in Serie B. He helped theу team to win promotion in his latest season with the club. In June 2007 he took charge of ChievoVerona brought them to the top flight at the end of the season. The start of the Serie A season was poor and he was sacked.
In October 2009 Giuseppe Iachini was appointed the manager of Serie B side Brescia but in December 2010, he was sacked because the team was close to the relegation zone. Iachini was offered to return to Brescia less than in two months and he remained at the helm of the team till his move to Sampdoria in November 2011. He helped Sampdoria to promote to Serie A beating Varese in the final.
On 27 December 2012 Iachini was named as the new manager of Siena.
In autumn 2013 Iachini replaced Gennaro Gattuso at the helm of Palermo.
