Hajime Moriyasu is a Japanese football manager, a retired player. He was born in 1968 in Kakegawa, Shizuoka. Currently he is the head coach of Sanfrecce Hiroshima. He graduated from Nagasaki Nihon Daigaku Gakuen High School and then joined Mazda in 1987. In 1993, the team joined newly founded J. League Division 1 and was renamed into Sanfrecce Hiroshima. In 1998, the manager of Sanfrecce Hiroshima, Hans Ooft, left the team for Kyoto Purple Sanga and took Hajime Moriyasu on loan. The player soon returned back and played there until 2001.
The 2002/03 season he spent with Vegalta Sendai and then retired. From 1992 till 1996 he represented the Japan national football team, in total he made 45 appearances and in 1992 he was a part of the team winning Asian Cup.
In 2004, he began his coaching career at Sanfrecce Hiroshima. Then he was the coach of the Japan national youth team, Participating in the 2006 AFC Youth Championship and the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup. From 2007 to 2009, he coached Sanfrecce Hiroshima and then worked with Albirex Niigata. His first managerial experience came in 2011, when he became the head coach of Sanfrecce Hiroshima.
