Hamza Hamzaoğlu is a Turkish football coach and retired defender. He was born on 1 January 1970 in Greece.
Hamza began his professional career with İzmirspor in 1988. In 1991, he moved to the Turkish heavyweights Galatasaray amassing 104 appearances for the club during a four-year stint. Since 1995 till 1999, Hamzaoğlu played for İstanbulspor amassing 125 league matches. After that, he played in defense for such Turkish teams as Siirtspor, Alanyaspor, Yozgatspor, Konyaspor and Beylerbeyi before his retirement in 2004.
Hamza Hamzaoğlu embarked on his managerial career as a head coach of Malatyaspor in 2008. In the 2009/10 season, he coached Eyüpspor and the next season Hamzaoğlu was at the helm of Denizlispor. In 2011, the coach took charge over Akhisar Belediyespor. It was to his immense credit that the club became the TFF First League champion in the 2011/12 season and thus got a promotion to the top tier. However, Akhisar mired at the bottom of the table having played 14 Süper Lig games in the 2012/13 season, amassing only two victories out of them.
