Hervé Renard is a former French football player. He currently heads the Zambia national football team.
Renard played for French clubs AS Cannes, Stade de Vallauris and SC Draguignan. He finished his playing career in 1998 and the next year he headed his former club SC Draguignan.
In 2002 Renard moved to China and became an assistant coach of Shanghai Cosco. In 2004 he coached English side Cambridge United. Then Renard headed French side AS Cherbourg for two seasons.
In 2008 he was appointed the head coach of the Zambia national football team and brought them to the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations quarter final. In 2010 and 2011 Hervé Renard had two short spells in the Angola national team and Angola side USM Alger.
In October 2011 he accepted an offer to take the position of the head coach of the Zambia national team and led the team to the Africa Cup of Nations victory.
