Holger Stanislawski is a former professional defender and current coach of FC Köln in the 2. Bundesliga. He was born on 26 September 1969 in Hamburg.
Holger started out his professional career at SC Concordia von 1907. In 1993, he joined his hometown side FC St. Pauli where he played until the retirement in 2004. Overall, Stanislawski made 257 appearances during his 11-year stint at the club.
A stalwart of FC St. Pauli, Stanislawski embarked on his managerial career as a head coach of the third-division club in 2006. He got off to a flying start leading the team to promotion to the 2. Bundesliga in his debut 2006/07 season. It was to his immense credit that the side finished second in the 2009/10 campaign and broke into the top-flight Bundesliga for the 2010/11 season.
In the season 2011/12, Holger Stanislawski was at the helm of the Bundesliga side TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. In May 2012, he took over reins at FC Köln and coaches the club till today.
