Ian Scott Holloway is a retired English footballer and a manager. He was born in 1963 in Kingswood, Bristol, England and began his playing career at Bristol Rovers, later joining the senior team. In 1981 he made his league debut for the team, playing in the Third Division. In July 1985, Ian Holloway joined Wimbledon for a fee of £35,000 and stayed with the club until March 1986. Then he was transferred to Brentford for £25,000 and in January 1987 he was sent on loan to Torquay United, where he made five appearances and then joined Bristol Rovers for £10,000. There under the guidance of Gerry Francis, Holloway became a regular player, featured in 179 league matches and scored 26 goals. In 1991, Francis took charge of Queens Park Rangers and signed Holloway, who played for the team until 1996, when he returned to Bristol Rovers. There he was playing manager till 1999.
In February 2001, he took charge of Queens Park Rangers and in 2004 he helped them to promote to Football League Second Division. In June 2006, he was appointed the manager of Plymouth Argyle, where he stayed for a year and in November 2007 he became the head coach of Leicester City. In 2009, he took charge of Blackpool and that season he helped the team to win the play-offs thus getting promotion to the Premier League. In 2010, they won South West Challenge Cup.
From November 2012 to October 2013, Ian Holloway was at the helm of Crystal Palace and guided the club to the Premier League. However, he earned just three points in the opening eight matches and left the club by mutual consent.
In January 2014 Holloway took charge of struggling Championship side Millwall.
