James Kwesi Appiah is the head coach of the Ghana national team. Appiah had been an assistant coach of the Black Stars since 2008 and in April 2012 he replaced Serbian Goran Stevanovic.
He was born in 1960 and from 1983 to 1993 he played for Asante Kotoko, a club from Kumasi, Ghana. He used to be a national team player from 1987 to 1992.
Appiah headed the Ghana under-23 side and led them to the 2011 All African Games victory.
