Jan Wouters is a former professional football player, who was born on 17 July 1960 in Utrecht, Netherlands.
His playing career started in FC Utrecht in 1980, where he stayed for 6 years, taking part in 168 matches and scoring 21 goals. In 1986 the talented midfielder signed a deal with Ajax, quickly progressing into the first team there. He stayed in the outfit till 1992, totaling 150 appearances and netting a ball 21 times. From 1992 to 1994 Wouters defended the colors of famous Bayern Munich,where he became one of key players in the squad, appearing in 66 matches and scoring 6 goals.
In 1996 Jan Wouters entered into coaching, as he was appointed an assistant coach of FC Utrecht. He has worked at the same position in such clubs, as AFC Ajax, Rangers, PSV Eindhoven, but it was not until 2011 that he received the chance to work as the head coach, becoming FC Utrecht manager.
