Jason Kreis is an American football coach and former professional player. He was born on 29 December 1972 in Omaha, Nebraska, the United States.
Jason started out his professional career with a minor club Raleigh Flyers in 1993 and then featured for New Orleans Riverboat Gamblers. His career really picked up steam when Kreis signed a contract with Dallas Burn and joined the club in the inaugural 1996 MLS season. Overall, he scored 91 goals in 247 league appearances during a nine-year stint at the club. In 2005, Kreis moved to Real Salt Lake where he played for three MLS seasons before retirement. In between 1996 and 2000, he earned 14 international caps to the United States national team.
Jason Kreis began his managerial career at Real Salt Lake in May 2007. He set up a record being the youngest MLS coach at the age of 34. It was to his immense credit that Real Salt Lake ended in a 1-1 draw with Los Angeles Galaxy in the final showdown of the 2009 MLS Cup and won the tournament 5-4 on penalties. After six and a half years with the club, Kreis accepted the offer from Manchester City bosses to take charge of their affiliated outfit New York City FC.
