Jorge Fernando Pinheiro de Jesus is a Portuguese football manager, born in 1954 in Amadora, Portugal. He began his youth playing career at Estrela Amadora, then he joined Sporting CP. In the latest one Jorge Jesus went on his senior career, being immediately loaned to Peniche for a season and after that he had a season-long loan with the top division side S.C. Olhanense.
Jorge Jesus returned to Sporting CP for the 1975/76 season and appeared in 12 games. The following clubs he played for during eight years were C.F. Os Belenenses, Grupo Desportivo Riopele, Juventude de Évora, União de Leiria, Vitória de Setúbal and S.C. Farense.
When Jesus was 35 years old he retired as a player and took up managerial career as a coach with Amora FC and then headed F.C. Felgueiras, Estrela da Amadora, Vitória Setúbal, Estrela Amadora and Vitória de Guimarães. Since 2004 he guided the teams of the top division Moreirense FC, União de Leiria and Belenenses.
In May, 2008 Jesus took over as a coach of Sporting Clube de Braga and helped them to finish fifth in the league.
Since 2009 Sport Lisboa e Benfica a Portuguese manager is responsible for Sport Lisboa e Benfica. During his first season at the helm he brought the club to the league title, led them to the Europa League quarterfinals and since then the team won three Portuguese League Cups.
