Leonid Slutsky is a head coach of Russian giant club CSKA Moscow from the Premier League. He was born on 4 May 1971 in Volgograd, Russia.
Slutsky is a former player of FC Zvezda Gorodishche where he had a position of a goalkeeper. However, aged only 19 he had to bid farewell to professional football playing because of knee injury.
Slutsky began his coaching career in 2000 at Olimpia Volgograd training junior players. After ruling the roost of Uralan Elista in the 2003/04 season, he coached FC Moscow reserve squad in the 2004/05 season and then was at the helm of the first team of the club for two years.
In the 2008/09 season, he took charge of Krylia Sovetov from Samara. And in October 2009 Leonid Slutsky took over CSKA Moscow after Spaniard Juande Ramos where he coaches today. With Slutsky at the helm, CSKA Moscow climbed up to the Champions League quarter-finals in December 2009 for the first time ever and became the Russia Cup champions in the 2010/11 campaign.
