Manolo Jiménez is a former renowned footballer (defender) and coach from Spain.
Jiménez began his playing career in Sevilla CF. In 1984, he made his debut for the team’s main squad and mainly played as a left defender. His first appearance for the Spain national team happened in 1988 and in 1990 he played at the FIFA World Cup in Italy. After leaving Sevilla, the footballer played in Real Jaén for a short period of time and in 1998 he chose to finish his career.
Manolo first thought about continuing his career as a coach only in 2007 when he was invited to become head coach of Sevilla (at that time – a La Primera club).
On October 6, 2010 he accepted the offer to sign a two-year contract with AEK (Greece). The team won the Greek Cup shortly – it was their first trophy in 9 years.
From 2011 to 2013 Jiménez was the head coach of Real Zaragoza.
