Massimiliano Allegri is a football manager from Italy born in 1967. Allegri started his playing career in Livorno, though only after joining Pescara his scoring talent and performance developed to the highest level. The team played only a season in Serie A, yet the midfielder scored 12 goals. Allegri continued his career in Perugia and later in Napoli.
His coaching career started in 2004, as he became the head coach of Aglianese football club and there he showed impressive managerial skills. Shortly afterwards Allegri was invited to Sassuolo and brought the club to the first place in C1 league receiving promotion to Serie B.
His next success was the 9th place with Cagliari after the season 2008/2009 in Serie A. Consequently he was awarded Panchina d’Oro, the award for the best manager of Italian League according to the coaches’ votes.
Recent move to AC Milan managerial post for Allegri was a huge step forward, and the decision of the president to appoint the young specialist proved to be right as Milan claimed the honors of Serie A and captured Supercoppa Italiana shortly after his appointment. However, later on the club lost their leading players and struggled to get back to the elite of Italian football. In January 2014 Allegri was sacked from the club. Later on that year Allegri replaced Antonio Conte at the helm of Juventus.
