Michael Wiesinger is a German retired football player, who began his managerial career in 2008.
Wiesinger was born in 1972 and came through the youth ranks of SVDJK Emmerting, SV Gendorf, TSV 1860 München and SpVgg Starnberg. He began his professional playing career at 1. FC Nuremberg in 1993 and stayed there until his move to FC Bayern Munich in 1999. He wasn’t Bayern’s regular player and in 2001 he completed a move to TSV 1860 Munich. Between 2004 and 2007 Wiesinger played for Wacker Burghausen, and then spent a year at SpVgg Weiden before he retired as a player.
In 2008 he took over as a manager of FC Ingolstadt 04 reserve team, after that he guided the first team, firstly as a caretaker and then as a manager. Having been sacked from Ingolstadt, Michael Wiesinger became the manager of 1. FC Nuremberg reserves. In December 2012 he took over as the manager of the first team and first shared his duties with Armin Reutershahn and then started coaching on his own. However, in October 2013 Wiesinger was sacked after a poor start to the season.
