Michal Bilek, a retired Czech footballer, currenly manages the Czech Republic national football team.
He was born in 1965 in Prague. Bilek started his playing career in Sparta Club and spent there greater part of his career in spite of spells in other clubs, such as RH Cheb, Real Betiz, Viktoria Zizkov and FK Teplice where he finished playing in 2000.
Michal Bilek played for Czechoslovakia and for Czech Republic national teams, after the country gained independence.
He started coaching in FK Teplice then moved to Costa Rica to guide Cartaginés.
Since 2002 Bilek coached Czech Republic U19, Chmel Blšany, Viktoria Plzeň, Sparta Prague and Ružomberok.
In 2009 he took over the Czech Republic national football team.
