Nikolai Pisarev is a former footballer, later a football manager. He was born in 1968 in Moscow and began his professional playing career at Torpedo Moscow in 1986. Between 1990 and 1992 he played for Swiss Winterthur and then had a spell at Spartak Moscow. In 1995/96 he played for CP Mérida, in 1996/97 he was loaned to FC St. Pauli. After that Pisrev played for Russian teams Spartak Moscow, Dynamo Moscow and Torpedo-ZIL. He made his debut for the Russia national team in the match against Slovakia on 8 March 1995 and was called up to play for the national squad three times.
In 2002 Pisarev went in for coaching and was an assistant coach at Krasnoznamensk, Krylia Sovetov Samara and Uralan Elista. Between 2005 and 2010 he guided the Russia soccer team and in 2010 was appointed the head coach of the Russia U21 team.
