Nikolay Kostov is a former Bulgarian footballer and a manager. He was born on 2 July 1963 in Dobrich, Bulgaria.
Nikolay embarked on his professional career at his hometown side Dobrudzha Dobrich in 1981. Later on, he featured for Levski Sofia, Slavia Sofia ad the Cypriot side Anorthosis before his retirement in 1994.
Kostov took up coaching at his parent club Dobrudzha Dobrich in 1996. In 2001, he moved to Anorthosis and led the Cypriot side to the Cypriot Cup in 2002. Since 2003 till 2007, Kostov was in charge of different Greek Cypriot clubs such as Onisilos Sotira, Olympiakos Nicosia and AEK Larnaca. In the 2007/08 season, he coached Banants Yerevan and then was at the helm of Metalurh Donetsk for two years. In 2012, Nikolay Kostov took over reins at Karpaty Lviv for he season 2012/2013.
In January 2014 he was appointed Tavriya Simferopol head coach.
