Ole Gunnar Solskjær is a Norwegian retired footballer, born in 1973 in Kristiansund, Norway, and began his senior playing career in 1990 with the third-division team Clausenengen and played for the team till 1994. Between 1994 and 1996 Solskjær played for Molde FK, during that period he netted 31 goals in 38 matches and attracted attention of Hamburger SV and Cagliari. But in July 1996 the footballer completed a move to Manchester United for £1.5 million.
He made his debut as a substitute in the match against Blackburn Rovers and in his first season he helped the team to win the title with his 18 goals. During several seasons since Solskjær joined United he proved himself an eminent striker, though appeared on the field as a substitute. In the 2001/02 season he got a regular spot in the starting eleven. In September 2003 he suffered a knee injury and missed half of the season, till February. Then he missed the 2004/05 season and returned in December 2005. He played for Manchester United till August 2007, having suffered several injuries, and then Solskjær retired as a player.
He represented Norway and earned 67 caps. He was called up to the national squad for the 1998 FIFA World Cup and Euro 2000.
In 2007/08 he was a coach at Old Trafford and in May 2008 he became the manager of Manchester United reserves, whom he guided till January 2011. After that he took charge of Molde FK and guided the team to two Norwegian Championships and one Cup in three years.
In January 2014 Ole Gunnar was offered to return to Premier League and take charge of a Premier League side Cardiff City.
