Óscar Pareja is a Colombian retired footballer. Currently he is the manager of Colorado Rapids. He was born in 1968 in Medellin, Colombia. Pareja graduated from Atlético Nacional and in 1987 began his senior career at Independiente Medellín. He marked his debut appearance for the team with a goal. Pareja spent there ten years and in 1995 he moved to Deportivo Cali and helped them to win the 1995/96 championship. After four years with the club, he switched to New England Revolution, but didn’t stay there for long and moved to FC Dallas. There he played from 1998 till 2005, making 170 appearances he scored 13 goals. Having finished his playing career, Óscar Pareja remained at the club working as an assistant manager until 2011. In 2012, he took charge of Colorado Rapids, where he still works.
Pareja represented the Colombia national football team, was a part of the team in the 1991 Copa América. He earned 11 caps and scored three goals during the period from 1991 till 1996.
