Oswaldo de Oliveira is a Brazilian football coach born on 5 December 1950 in Rio de Janeiro.
He embarked on his coaching career at a top-flight Brazilian side Corinthians in 1999 which thanks to his help became the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A champion. Moreover, in his debut season Oliveira led the club to the Campeonato Paulista victory. In 2000, Oswaldo graced Corinthians by leading them to the FIFA Club World Championship trophy.
After leaving the club, Oliveira coached Vasco da Gama and Fluminense. But he enjoyed better fortune at the helm of giant São Paulo in the 2002/03 season. He again won the Campeonato Paulista in 2002. In between 2003 and 2007, the Brazilian coach coached an array of clubs such as Flamengo, Vitória, Santos, Cruzeiro and even a Qatari side Al Ahli. In 2007, Oliveira took over reins at a Japanese side Kashima Antlers where he coached for four years. During a four-year spell, he met with tremendous success recording the J1 League thrice, the Emperor’s Cup twice, the Japanese League Cup and Super Cup. In 2012, Oswaldo de Oliveira was hired as coach of Botafogo.
In 2014 Oliveira moved to Santos.
