Pedro Miguel Faria Caixinha was born in 1970 in Beja, Portugal. Currently a Portuguese football manager heads a Mexican club Santos Laguna.
He spent his playing career with Portimonense S.C. and Clube Desportivo de Beja. In the latest one Caixinha switched to managing, taking charge of the youth team. In 2003, he headed Clube de Futebol Vasco da Gama for a season and then he moved to Sporting Clube de Portugal, where he became José Peseiro’s assistant, with whom he went on working with Al-Hilal, Panathinaikos, Rapid București and Saudi Arabia.
In 2010, Caixinha returned to Portugal and became the head coach of União de Leiria, playing in the top division, and helped them to rank 10th in the league during his only season with the club.
After that he switched to C.D. Nacional and led them to the seventh position in 2011/2012 season.
Since 2012 the Portuguese has managed a Mexican club Santos Laguna, competing in the top division.
