Pedro Emanuel dos Santos Martins Silva is a retired Portuguese footballer, who was born in 1975 Luanda, Angola.
Emanuel spent the first three seasons of his senior career in such Portuguese teams as F.C. Marco, A.D. Ovarense and F.C. Penafiel. In 1996, he joined Boavista FC, where he used to play in the youth team. He performed as a defender during six years with the club and helped his team to win Primera Liga in 2000/01. He wore the captain’s armband during his last season in the club and in 2002 Emanuel signed for F.C. Porto, which was guided by José Mourinho at that time. A Portuguese footballer impressed the manager and he was a part of the team, winning the 2002/03 UEFA Cup and the 2003/04 UEFA Champions League.
In 2005/06 season, Emanuel was appointed the team’s captain but he missed the following season because of the injury. In the 2007/08 season, he recovered and as a part of the team he won the Primera Liga.
In June 2009, Pedro Emanuel retired and took charge of Porto U-17 team. In the next July he was appointed André Villas-Boas’ assistant, coaching Porto for a season and in 2011 he took charge of Académica de Coimbra where he worked till 2013.
Since 2013 the Portuguese has been in charge of Arouca, recently promoted to Primeira Liga.
