Rashid Rakhimov is a football manager, who is a retired player. He was born in 1965 in Dushanbe. In 1987 he began his professional playing career at SKA-Pamir Dushanbe. Then he played for Spartak Moscow and in 1992/93 had a spell at Real Valladolid. Then Rakhimov played for Lokomotiv Moscow, Spartak Moscow. From 1995 and 2000 he played for Austria Wien, after that he had spells at Admira Wacker and Ried.
In 1992 and 1996 he was called up to play for Tajikistan and in 1994/95 he made four appearances for the Russia national team.
He took over as a football manager in 2002 and guided Admira Wacker until 2004. In 2006/07 he was the head coach of Amkar Perm. In December 2007 he was appointed the manager of Lokomotiv Moscow but was sacked in April 2009. Then Rakhimov was at the helm of Amkar Perm and resigned in the autumn of 2011.
In November 2013 he was offered a job at the helm of Terek Grozny.
