Robert Warzycha is a Polish coach and former professional midfielder. He was born on 20 August 1963 in Siemkowice, Poland.
As a player, Warzycha had an extensive European experience. He started out his professional career with the Polish side Górnik Wałbrzych in 1985 and went on with Górnik Zabrze. He got off to a flying start at Zabrze winning the Ekstraklasa, the top football division in Poland, in his debut season. The following year, in 1988, he helped the club to win the Double – the Ekstraklasa and Polish SuperCup.
In 1991, Warzycha got a toehold at the English Premier League club Everton where he played three successful seasons amassing 72 appearances. In 1994, he moved to Hungary to join Pécsi Mecsek and then signed for Hungarian top-division club Budapest Honvéd aiding the side to win the Hungarian Cup in the 1995/96 season.
Since 1996 till 2002, the Polish midfielder played for American side Columbus Crew. He scored 19 goals in 160 matches for the club during his six-year stint there before retirement in 2002. In 2003, he was appointed an assistant at the Crew and in 2009 Robert Warzycha became the team’s head coach.
