Roman Hryhorchuk is a Ukrainian football coach and former professional forward. He is currently at the helm of Chornomorets Odesa in the Ukrainian Premier League.
Roman started out his professional career with his hometown side Prykarpattya Ivano-Frankivsk in 1991. He was a fantastic asset for the club and established himself as one of the top scorers of the Ukrainian First League amassing 32 goals in 55 matches during a three-year stint at Prykarpattya. In between 1998 and 2001, Hryhorchuk had a successful three-year spell at the Latvian side Dinaburg FC where he scored 30 goals in 63 matches.
In 2000, Roman Hryhorchuk took up coaching at Dinaburg and in five years he took charge over another Latvian side FK Ventspils leading them to three consecutive Latvian championship wins (in 2006, 2007 and 2008) and to the Latvian Cup victory in 2005. In the 2009/10 Ukrainian Premier League season, Hryhorchuk was appointed as the head coach of Metalurh Zaporizhya. In November 2010, he took over reins at FC Chornomorets Odesa and coaches the team till today. It was to Roman Hryhorchuk’s immense credit that the club returned to the Ukrainian Premier League ahead of the 2011/12 season.
