Shawky Gharib Bayoumi is a head coach of Smouha. He’s also the former professional player. Gharib was born on 26 February 1959.
His playing career was spent at Ghazl El-Mehalla. It lasted for 15 years, since he first entered the club in 1978. In 1979, Shawky earned the first call for the Egypt national squad. He took part in several editions of the African Cup of Nations. In 1986, his team became the champions of the competition. The footballer also participated in the 1984 Summer Olympics.
In 2001, Gharib started his coaching career. He became the manager of the Egypt U-21 team. During his debut year as a coach, Shawky managed to lead the squad to the third position in the Francophone Games. In 2011, he was invited to join Smouha Sporting Club.
