Siniša Mihajlović, a former football player, was born in 1969.
He started playing for his hometown team NK Borovo. Later he joined FK Vojvodina and in 1990 he moved to Red Star Belgrade, where they won the 1990/91 UEFA Champions League and Intercontinental Cup in 1991.
In 1992 he moved to Roma football club where he played for two seasons. In 1994 Mihajlović joined Sampdoria. The next club he played for was Lazio. They won the 1998/99 UEFA Cup Winners Cup title, two Coppa Italia, two Supercoppa Italiana, the 1999 UEFA Super Cup and Serie A in 2005/06.
Mihajlović finished his career after two seasons with Internazionale, where he started to work as an assistant coach. In 2009 he took charge of Catania, in 2010 he headed Fiorentina.
In May 2012 he was announced the Serbia national football team manager. However, after failing to get the team to the World Cup in Brazil, Mihajlović resigned in November 2013 and took over the reigns in Sampdoria.
