Stephen Roger Bruce is a football manager, currently he is at the helm of Hull City. He was born in 1960 in Corbridge, Northumberland, England. He graduated from Gillingham, played for the reserves and then went on playing for the senior team. At the end of 1979/80 season Bruce was awarded as the team’s Player of the Year. In total he made 205 appearances for them and scored 29 goals. He left the team in the summer of 1984 and joined Norwich City. In the 1985 he was named Norwich City Player of the Year though the team suffered relegation. The following season they got promotion and in 1986/87 Norwich finished the league on the fifth position, their best ever result. In December 1987 he left the club and joined Manchester United approximately for £800,000 or £825,000. During his spell until 1996 Man United won many titles: thrice they were Premier League winners, three times they gained FA Cup, in 1992 they won Football League Cup, in 1991 they won European Cup Winners' Cup and European Super Cup and thrice they won Charity Shield.
The 35-years old he left Manchester and switched to Birmingham City for a fee about £2 million and played for the team from 1996 to 1998. Then he took over a player-manager at Sheffield United and retired as a player in November 1998. In May 1999 he left the team and took charge of Huddersfield Town, leaving them in October 2000. In 2001, he had a short period with Wigan Athletic, then with Crystal Palace.
From 2001 to 2007 Steve Bruce was at the helm of Birmingham City. In 2002, they won promotion to the Premier League and in 2006/07 finished the league runners-up.
From 2007 to 2009 Bruce guided Wigan Athletic, then worked with Sunderland and in June 2012 took charge of Hull City.
