Steve Clarke, a former footballer and a manager, was born on 29 August 1963 in Scotland.
At the age of six, Steve started his football career in St. Mirren in spite of the fact he had already began to study engineering. After 200 appearances for the club, Clarke signed for Chelsea of London in 1977. Being the player of that team, Steve lifted the FA Cup, the Football League Cup, the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup and was voted the Chelsea Player of the Year (1994).
He played eight games for the Scotland national youth team and was capped for the senior team eight times as well.
After finishing his playing career, Steve Clarke became the assistant manager in Newcastle United. He took the same position in Chelsea, West Ham and Liverpool. Clarke led Chelsea to the title of the Premier League Champions (2005, 2006), helped them to win the FA Cup (2007) and the Football League Cup (2005, 2007). Liverpool also gained the Football League Cup (2012) with Clarke in the coaching staff.
From June 2012 to December 2013, Clarke was at the helm of West Bromwich Albion.
