Andrew Stuart Murray McCall is a retired Scottish footballer, currently managing Motherwell. He was born in 1964 in Leeds, England, and spent his youth playing career at Pudsey Juniors, Holbeck, Farsley Celtic and Bradford City. After graduating from the latest one he joined the club’s senior team. That happened in 1982 and he made his debut appearance in August. He played for the club until 1988, made 238 league appearances and scored 37 goals.
In 1988, McCall joined Everton and stayed there until Rangers bought his in 1991 for a fee of £1.2m. During his stay with the club they won six Scottish Premier Division titles, thrice they became Scottish Cup winners and twice they won League Cup. In 1998, he left Everton and returned to Bradford City. He played for the team until 2002, made 157 appearances and scored 8 goals. Then McCall signed for Sheffield United and retired in 2005, but staying with the club he coached its reserves and after his retirement worked there as an assistant.
From 1990 to 1998 he represented the Scotland national team and made 40 appearances.
In 2000, he became the caretaker of Bradford United but soon returned to Sheffield and took up managerial work at Bradford in 2007. In 2010, McCall was appointed the head coach of Motherwell, where he still works.
