Thorsten Fink – a famous former German footballer and a manager.
During his playing career, he was in such famous teams as Borussia Dortmund, SG Wattenscheid 09 (helped the team reach 1. Bundesliga) and Karlsruher SC (1994). When in the squad of the latter, he was spotted by FC Bayern Munich management and eventually signed a contract with the team in 1997. Fink played for the team till 2004 when he decided to leave the pitch as a player.
In 2005, he graduated from a university and received a coaching permit. He began his coaching career in Red Bull Salzburg as an assistant coach.
In 2007, he got the position of FC Ingolstadt 04 head coach where he worked for two years. On April 21, 2009 he was sacked. In 2009, he was in charge of FC Basel where he won the Swiss Cup, Swiss Super League and Uhrencup.
In 2011, he was invited to become Hamburger SV head coach and guided the team for two years. After an unsuccessful start to the 2013/2014 campaign Fink was sacked in September 2013.
