Unai Emery is a Spanish football coach who currently managing Sevilla. He was born on 3 November 1971 in Hondarribia, Spain.
Unai spent most of his football career playing as a midfielder for then-second division club Real Sociedad breaking into La Liga only in his last 1995/96 season at a Spanish side. After that, Emery featured for such Spanish clubs as Toledo, Racing Ferrol, Leganés and Lorca Deportiva until retirement at the age of 32.
Emery began his coaching career at Lorca Deportiva in 2004. It was to his credit that the club advanced to the second division for the first time ever after crashing top-flight Málaga CF in the Spanish Cup. Emery put a stamp on Almería’s progress between 2006 and 2008, and graced Valencia leading the team up to the UEFA Cup round of 32 in 2008/09 campaign.
In May 2012, Unai Emery signed a two-year contract with a Russian top club FC Spartak Moscow but was sacked the same year.
In January 2013 he was offered a job at Sevilla.
