Vardan Minasyan, an Armenian retired football player, was born in 1974 in Soviet Union. Minasyan spent his playing career in several Armenian teams and his longest period was in Pyunik Yerevan. He also was a part of the Armenian national team.
Minasyan started his managerial career as an assistant coach in the Pyunik Yerevan, where he finished his playing career. At the same time he was the assistant coach of Jan Porterfield in the Armenia national team and in 2007 he became the team’s caretaker. Englishman Tom Jones became his assistant but in January 2008 Jan Poulsen headed the national team. In 2009 Poulsen was sacked and Minasyan was again named the caretaker. From the summer 2008 to 2013 Minasyan headed Pyunik Yerevan.
Under his guidance Armenia ended on the 3rd place in qualifying group for the Euro 2012.
