Yasuhiro Higuchi was born in 1961 in Mie, Japan. Currently he is the head coach of Yokohama F. Marinos. He began to play football when he was 9 and at the age of 11 he joined Nissan Motors youth ranks. After that Higuchi went on playing with the senior team and spent there five years, and then he left the club due to the knee injury. He continued playing with amateur teams of the lowest division before he retired.
In 2006, he took over as the manager of Montedio Yamagata, spent there one season and left the team in 2007. In 2008, Higuchi was the manager of Omiya Ardija but was sacked in half a year. In 2009, he took charge of Yokohama F.C., which later was reorganized into Yokohama F. Marinos.
