Yuriy Vernydub is a Ukrainian coach and former professional defender. He was born on 22 January 1966 in Zhytomyr, Ukraine.
At the beginning of his career Yuriy played for such Ukrainian clubs as FC Spartak Zhytomyr, Kolos Nikopol, FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, FC Prykarpattya Ivano-Frankivsk and FC Metalurh Zaporizhya. In the 1993/94 season, he played 7 matches for the German side Chemnitzer FC and the next season moved back to Ukraine and joined FC Torpedo Zaporizhia. Since 1997 till 2000, Vernydub had a favourable spell at FC Zenit St. Petersburg. He won the Russian Cup in 1999. With Zenit, Vernydub got an opportunity to perform in two 1999/2000 UEFA Cup games and one UEFA Intertoto Cup match in 2000.
In 2001, Yuriy Vernydub embarked on his managerial career when he was appointed as an assistant coach at FC Metalurh Zaporizhya in 2001. In 2009, Vernydub moved to FC Zorya Luhansk where he had the position of an assistant for two seasons. In 2011, he became the head coach of the club and works with the team till the date.
