José “Zeca” Marques is a head coach of Moroka Swallows. He’s also the former footballer. Zeca was born on 16 August 1961 in Porto, Portugal.
Marques’ family moved to Johannesburg from Portugal during his childhood. His playing career passed at Troyeville FC, where he operated as a midfielder. Zeca had played in the old NSL and in the NPSL, before he opted to become a coach.
Marques got the UEFA A license and started his coaching career in 1999, when he was hired to work the assistant coach to Walter Da Silva, the head coach of Moroka Swallows. In 2007, he had a deal with Lusitano FC. At the beginning of the 2012/2013 season, Zeca was named the head coach of Moroka Swallows. He’s already guided his team to the first victory of the season, the MTN8. Marques opted to get better league results than the latest season’s second place.
